CalendarDiff keeps your dates to yourself.
CalendarDiff converts any date or time across 11 calendar and date-numbering systems, with a world clock and map. This page explains, in plain language, what the app does and doesn't do with your information.
§1
Overview
CalendarDiff was built around a simple rule: your dates are your business. There's no account to create, no server holding your saved moments, and no advertising or analytics tracking what you convert. Every conversion — Gregorian, Julian Day, Hebrew, Islamic, Persian, Mayan, Indian National, ISO 8601, Unix Epoch, Excel Serial, and the rest — happens instantly, on your device, from nothing more than the date, time, and time zone you give it.
The only thing that outlives the moment you're looking at is what you explicitly bookmark as a Saved Moment, and that stays on your device unless you choose to sync it through your own iCloud account. This policy covers what limited information the app touches, why, and how you can remove it at any time.
§2
What we don't collect
CalendarDiff has no backend server, so there is nothing for us to collect in the first place. Specifically, CalendarDiff does not:
- Require a name, email, or account to use
- Run analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking
- Show ads or use advertising identifiers
- Sell, rent, or share your data with third parties
- Transmit your saved moments to any server we operate
- Access your camera, microphone, photos, or location
We — the developer — cannot see your saved moments. We don't have a dashboard, a database, or any other way to view what you've entered into the app.
§3
What's stored, and where
Every conversion in CalendarDiff happens live, on your device — the date and time you're viewing isn't saved anywhere unless you choose to bookmark it. What is stored locally, using Apple's on-device data framework, is:
- Saved Moments — any date, time, and time zone you've chosen to bookmark for later.
- Your preferences — appearance (System, Light, or Dark) and whether iCloud Sync is turned on.
That's the entire picture, unless you turn on iCloud Sync for your Saved Moments.
§4
iCloud sync
If you turn on "Sync Saved Moments with iCloud" in Settings, your Saved Moments also sync to your own private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit — the same private-database mechanism apps like Notes and Reminders use. It exists solely to keep your own devices in sync with each other. It is not a shared, public, or CalendarDiff-operated database, we cannot access it, and it's covered by Apple's own iCloud privacy and security practices, not ours.
Turning iCloud Sync off in Settings stops this at any time; your Saved Moments then live on-device only. Because this setting takes effect the next time you relaunch the app, Settings notes that the change applies on your next launch rather than immediately.
§5
Deleting your data
Because everything lives on your device (and, optionally, your own private iCloud), you're always in control of it:
- Delete an individual Saved Moment any time from the Saved Moments list.
- Deleting the app removes its on-device data; if iCloud Sync was on, removing the app's data from your iCloud account follows Apple's standard iCloud data handling.
§6
Children's privacy
CalendarDiff is a general-audience reference and conversion tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children — and since the app doesn't collect information from anyone in the first place, there is no data of any kind at stake either way.
§7
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of CalendarDiff adds a feature that changes how data is handled — we'll update the "Last updated" date above and the change will apply from that date forward.
